Chip Shots Tips – Escape the Dig - Up & Away
‘Down is Dead’
On chip and pitch shots, letting the chest move up and away in transition is key.
- When the chest stays down, this forces the holding of angles which affects low point and the leading-edge digs.
- When the chest moves correctly, the bounce glides — delivering cleaner contact, better distance control, and more consistent results around the greens. This motion allows the wrists to naturally lose angle, exposing the bounce of the club.
